During the ceremonial night of the competition she joined, Fatwa Syarifah—most people call her Fatwa, already wanted to go back to her room at the hotel.
Fatwa participated in Semarak Karya Hari Guru Nasional 2023 from BBGP Jawa Barat—an event to celebrate National Teacher’s Day. She didn’t feel like she would win the title and make it to the end.
“After all, on that day, I felt like my body wasn't well, and I sat at the very back of the room. I wanted to just have a rest,” Fatwa shares.
However, a beautiful twist suddenly just happened. And that night turned out to be one of her most historical moments. She was overwhelmed with various emotions, knowing the fact that she became the top winner—all with her Assemblr EDU project.
A preschool teacher and a proud Assemblr Certified Educator (ACE) member, Fatwa became the champion of the “BERKARYA” category with the “The Most Unique Learning Material” title—competing with 99 other teachers in the same category.
She first learned about this competition through Instagram, and she found it interesting. “It’s actually not my first time joining the event. My second year, to be exact,” Fatwa continues. “But at first, I think I didn’t know what I was supposed to do, so I joined other available categories.”
That experience pumped Fatwa up to get better—not only to win the competition or get any prestigious titles, but basically just to be better and better each day.
After upgrading her skills in the ACE community, she started to join this year’s competition. With a different theme provided, this is like the light at the end of the tunnel.
“I didn’t prepare much. I’m not obsessed with being a winner, and I never hope to be one. Honestly, I just wanted to participate and share about Assemblr EDU with other participants. It’s purely my passion, I joined because I love making projects with Assemblr EDU.”
For the competition, Fatwa created quite a simple project about the story of ants teamwork. On Assemblr EDU, she maximizes the “Embed in Canva” feature, so she can insert the 3D of the ants into her Canva presentation.
Along the journey, she never found any difficulty during the preparation. It all went smoothly and all good. “Alhamdulillah, my presentation also went well. I could just go on for 10 minutes straight without stuttering.”
This whole sweet experience doesn’t make her brag anywhere and to anyone. Instead, she just goes on to be even better and improve herself.
“I don’t have any plans for a while, especially for competitions. I just want to be the very best version of myself. And for my ACE level, I want to try reaching the highest level.”
Having learned from this competition, Fatwa has so much to share with you—just in case you’re looking to join a teacher’s competition in the future.
“Just have fun and enjoy the moment. Don’t focus too much on the competition, and make sure to maximize Assemblr EDU well. Also, make sure to find the unique aspects of your project that no one else has. This will boost your possibility of being chosen as the winner!”
