Your Assemblr Project Suddenly Becomes Unavailable? Here’s What You Need to Do!

Have you ever tried to open your 3D/AR project in Assemblr, only to find that it can’t be loaded or viewed? If so, you’re not alone. This commonly happens to users who previously subscribed to the Pro plan but whose subscription has since expired.

Don’t worry, your project isn’t lost. In this article, we’ll explain why this happens and how you can easily restore access to your project!

‍Why Can’t Your Assemblr Project Be Accessed?

When your Pro subscription ends, our system checks whether your project contains any Pro features that are not available in the Free plan. If it does, the project is automatically moved into draft mode.

This is done to prevent display issues or errors that might occur if the project were forced to load without its Pro features.

Here are some common Pro features that may cause this:

• Premium 3D Objects - Certain 3D models in the library are only available for Pro users.

• Private Project Mode - Pro users can set projects to private and control who has access.

• Uploaded Audio Files - Uploading and attaching audio is only available in Pro plans.

• Hidden Watermark - Watermark hiding works only while the Pro subscription is active.

• Project Duplication Restrictions - Only Pro users can restrict others from duplicating their project.

• Custom AR Markers from Subscription Quotas - If your project uses Custom Markers granted only in paid plans, access requires an active subscription.

If any of these features are included in your project, the system will temporarily deactivate project access until the Pro subscription is active again.

So, Does This Mean Your Project Is Gone?

Not at all! Your project is still safely stored in our system. 

Only its status has changed to draft.

This means:

• All objects, elements, and layout remain intact
• The project can be restored exactly as before
• You do not need to recreate anything from scratch

How to Restore Access to Your Project

You have two options, choose the one that fits your needs best:

Option 1: Continue Using the Free Version

If you do not plan to renew your subscription:

1. Replace all Pro features (such as premium objects or custom markers) with the Free alternatives.
2. Re-publish your project.

Your project link and QR code will remain the same, so you don’t need to share it again.

However, keep in mind that some visuals may change due to differences between Free and Pro assets.

Option 2: Keep All Pro Features Without Changing Anything

If you want your project to appear exactly the same as before, simply renew your Assemblr EDU Pro subscription.

Once your plan is active again, the project will be restored instantly with no edits required and no republishing needed. All settings, objects, and interactions will remain untouched.
